On assignment for N magazine I travelled to Svalbard. An island that sits at 78 degrees north in the Arctic Circle. We stayed in a log cabin a few hundred meters from a glacier. The cabin had no electricity or running water. For three days we trekked across the glacier, kayaked in the ice-cold sea and spotted seals and polar bears. Arranged by Basecamp Explorer, this trip is amazing. You need to be fairly fit and healthy, but it’s definitely one for your bucket list.
